coming to the end..

so slack tonight.. should never have turned on my laptop and log on the BBC Messageboards and talk abt the Lions.. it's hard ya know.. it's like the Football World Cup which most ppl will be crazy abt this time next yr, even ppl who don't even know how to play the game!! but at least managed to study a bit of Genetics, and really tonight i wanted to study my Genomics area and did that.. so it can't be a failure.. but just felt tired.. u know coming to that point of the year where u're kinda sick of studying and wish it were the hols.. it is coming soon though.. can't wait for the Lions test and Sydney..

i'll prove to ya that i studied Genomics and dint just type on the messageboard. Summary:

Genomes - total DNA content of an organism

Genomics - molecular analysis of the DNA content of an organism

DNA sequencing - make an ordered array of the DNA, cut it into smaller fragments, sequence them, and then join them back together

FISH - DNA with funny flashy things on 'em

BLAST search - sequence, query, chances of similarity being random

Functional/Comparative Genomics - paralogues and orthologues

Microarray Technology - still can't figure that one out

i'm also partly sick with a sore throat.. and i pray i won't be even more sick after tomorrow's Meningitis jab.. (barf)

i actually had high hopes to do a lot of stuff during this gap week.. but i've now realised that i'm human and have limits.. so we'll just see if i really want to do an odd job for a bit of money esp for my WOF and License.. and that broken antenna.. i've realised how many things i've been thinking abt over the last couple of days.. and how little of me there is to do all of them..

i guess that's called facing up to reality..
