"Having ur hands on ur hips or on ur head is a sign of weakness"

Brad Fittler

well technically they were Ricky Stuart's words but i thought those were really good words.. that was from Brad Fittler's autobiography which recently came out in Australia.. Brad Fittler is one of Australia's most famous rugby league players who retired late last year.. one of my favourite players and he's written a pretty personal and revealing autobiography which i think should come to NZ.. it's unlike recent autobiographies - Justin Marshall's included - in that it feels more like a blog rather than a writing by a professional biographer.. of coz there are several shocks but that's how they sell books..

anyway it's been 6 days since i was in Sydney and i guess there are several things i miss abt Aussie.. apart from the weather, i guess the sport.. ok the news coverage of the All Blacks is non-existent but they've got this awesome sport called Aussie Rules which i watched once there and loved it.. wish they showed it in NZ more - they do show the BIG Grand Final and have highlights but that's abt it, i mean it is purely an Aussie sport.. now i'm like trying to figure out which club to support.. want to support a Melbourne club coz that's the capital of Aussie rules, and they've got like 50 clubs in the city.. after asking Aussies, i'm thinking of Richmond or the Kangaroos (North Melbourne) or the Swans - well they were South Melbourne but now are Sydney through and through.. should pick a team that wins..

and visiting Sydney has made me turn a bit to the Blue side.. i'll always be a Maroon but in the league, still not too sure who to support.. not really a Warriors fan coz they're more like an Auckland team rather than a New Zealand team.. well really league's still an Auckland game apart from a strong following in powerful Canterbury.. want to support a club with heritage but is doing well.. South Sydney may have had a glorious past but i can't see them yet breaking the big time esp after failing to sign highly rated five-eighth Braith Anasta.. Sydney has a glorious past, and is one of the top teams.. and yeah it was Freddie's (Brad Fittler) old club.. don't really like Canterbury coz of their fans.. Tigers maybe coz of the past with Balmain and Western Suburbs and the fact Kiwi Benji Marshall is there.. and they play good footie.. Penrith no.. Manly.. hmm.. maybe...liked Manly..

anyway talking too much sports there.. well have had a really cruisy cruisy week.. which is prob good coz i think this semester's gonna be awfully busy for me study wise.. still not sure whether i want a job at the same time with 3 9 point papers.. anyway, wanted to just do nothing big this week after only coming back on Sunday night.. in fact on Wednesday spent the whole night watching TV.. after Simpsons and Scrubs, watched the pilot for Grey's Anatomy... i still prefer House MD.. i like Hugh Laurie coz he's British - despite the American accent on the show - and he's a genius in this show.. and they do solve some strange medical cases..

shame that Home and Away is so behind in NZ.. i know how they're going to kill off Hayley - Bec Cartwright soon to be Bec Hewitt and a mother to Leyton Hewitt's first child which is really why she's leaving the show.. well actually no.. but i can see it coming.. i know that Robbie and that girl get married.. don't really watch Home and Away but.. u do need a break from sport which i'm starting to discover..

study? well after last semester, i'm definitely going to work harder.. well def have to work harder coz of my itinerary.. but really have thought of studying but i'm thinking it's still ages from October and like there have only been a handful of lectures..

anyway Get Smart.. really hope to go for one of the nights.. planning to go Friday and Saturday nights.. but still confused abt what's really going on.. are they fully booked? is it still open?

a v cruisy week.. a week which prob may see me become a Richmond FC and Roosters fan..

Hey bud, good to hear from you. I'm stoked that you like House M.D., it's a great programme! I must say that I'm less impressed that you watch (and know a lot about, it seems!) Home and Away, but I'm a forgiving man.

Anyways, come to Get Smart, man. Yes, it is booked out, but a) the night services are free and b) the newly 'renovated' youth centre is the 'overflow room', and they've got a screen or screens in there, so it's all good. Hope to see you there!
