my first blog on my new laptop.. my dad managed to fix my previous laptop - an expensive motherboard change in Malaysia - but my mum will use that for her work.. what do i think of my laptop? it's p good.. still haven't really quite got on top of it.. but nice thing is it can play DVDs.. well that is after i had to spend US$19.95 on DVD+MP3 decoder so that i can watch Joe Dirt, etc.. oh well, it's worth it coz otherwise my DVD player would be p useless apart from playing DVD rewrites..
Christmas always seems to have an end-of-the-year feeling.. even more so than New Year's Eve i reckon.. i guess coz it's the end of the year and also coz it's more festive and at times more meaningful than New Year's Eve.. it's always a time of reflection.. and at the end of it, u're left mulling wishing the year will never end.. or that the end of the year couldn't come sooner enough..
this year's it's been the former.. 2005 has definitely been a much more enjoyable year than 2004.. i wouldn't say better coz God has a purpose for each year, but i'd have to say 2005 has been a memorable year.. just don't want it to end.. partly coz won't see a lot of close friends in 2006.. not sure if i'm actually looking forward to 2006 to be honest, as i seem to be putting off planning for it.. as u should at this time of the year..
2005 has been great in many ways.. not just sporting wise although that was quite awesome as well, but personally too never have i done so much exciting things in one year ever.. Oscars, Cutting Edge stuff, Cromwell.. for me, i guess Cromwell tops the lot coz it was at the end of the year, and there were quite a lot of crazy events going on, whether it was jumping off the Cromwell Bridge, or trying to find free accomodation and getting away with it twice out of three times..
anyway, this avro visited the Saras at William Street, and i was actually quite surprised by the wonderful reception i got.. Jan knew me quite well and she was really nice to me.. really nice house.. it was p impromptu, but turns out i wasn't the only one visiting their place as there were heaps of ppl dropping by including Lizzie's sister Claire and her boyfriend from Brisbane, and Miriam.. talked to Lizzie about her missions trip to Thailand and then showed Lizzie my video of the jumps off the Cromwell Bridge which i got on my camera.. she was impressed but said she wouldn't do it.. those short videos are now priceless btw.. thats why u always carry a camera esp when ya around with Kiwis....
so it's not too far away from the stroke of midnight when it'll be 2005 years since Christ was born apparently.. i've got presents for everyone - well at least everyone i'll see around this time of the year - and i even got a present for myself - Anton Oliver's autobiography.. it's p relaxed for the 2nd time ever during Christmas coz in the past Christmas would be one of the busiest times of the year with church events in Malaysia.. in fact there's really nothing much to do, so i've put on the league Tri Nations Final... ah puts a big smile on ya face..
watched Joe Dirt, again.. just loved it so much after i watched it the first time with Mike, Joe and Jared in Bannockburn.. it puts the lotion on its skin... well that's actually from Silence of the Lambs..
so have a happy holiday as most of this PC world will say... i'll say have a blessed Christmas and New Year.. i'm gonna have a p relaxed Christmas.. the plan's to read books and watch a few movies.. and i've got to leave the tape on to tape the whole Grand Slam tour on the Rugby Channel...
