haps 5

it's been a week since i last blogged.. well that's because i've been at Parachute last weekend.. and it was awesome.. i'm blogging from Dave Pom's flat in Tawa..

anyway P06 was just awesome.. it was.. so awesome that listening to mundane, old car radio on the way home made me miss Day of Fire - whom i got their CD and am listening to now - Delirious, etc. heaps of highlights - Saturday Rock night was great with Amberlin, Day of Fire, Sunday worship night was awesome as, with Planet Shakers, Parachute, Reuben Morgan (of Hillsongs fame), and the highlight of the night, Delirious who i guess were the show of the weekend according to everyone.. other notables, Mums' Dollar was fantastic too, and i got their CD, which makes that two Rock CDs that i bought which has never happened before.. must partly thank Jared Clow for launching me into rock music, although i've always liked Green Day, Good Charlotte..

i went up with Jacqui and her friend Cath.. flew into Wellington, and then we drove up to Cath's family in Kimbolton, just outside Feilding.. really nice family and really nice big farm overlooking most of the Manawatu.. spent a night there, and then drove through Taupo and Tokoroa to Mystery Creek, where everyone was crowding into for P06.. shared a tent with them since i went up with them.. met with all the guys from the bach i stayed at in Bannockburn, ie. Jared, Roxy, Chris, Mike Willis, and Charlotte on the last night.. also saw Mike Reeves, Heather and the Germann twins.. man identical twins can be annoying! i tried to get back on Andrew but ended up pouncing on his twin, Richard! yeah had good times with them and their mates from Auckland when we crammed into their Ford Escort and drove around Lake Karapiro and Hamilton looking for a McDonalds - it was the Germann's idea - on Sunday afternoon..

having spent most time in the South Island, the North Island is so different esp when u get closer to Auckland.. well there's always more traffic, more big towns, it's really summer there, the sun sets much earlier than in the South and even the ads on tv and radio are different.. Hamilton's alright, kinda like Christchurch.. got a nice lake gardens.. was kinda surprised by the size of Feilding which i always thought was quite small.. prob is bigger than Cromwell or even Mosgiel.. and they do drink Speights up there..

anyway, that's P06 and it sure did go by in a flash.. can't believe that it was that quick.. miss the music, the girls in their summer gear coz really it's just too hot for anything else, the music, the atmosphere, the girls in their summer gear.. don't miss the camping, queueing up for the showers and toilets.. i would be alright camping but not when u have these guys repeating the "Shush" game with the neighbours at 3 in the morning on the first night! that was quite funny actually, esp when i had to walk to the toilets from my tent.. the heat could also be pretty unbearable.. man drank heaps of water, and had lots of fruit..

hmm.. anyway, don't know what i'm up to for today or for the rest of the time.. i'm only leaving Wellington on Saturday evening.. the reason why i left so much time up here was coz i thought i was going to New Plymouth to see Joe on the way back from Parachute but that got scuppered coz he couldn't get time off, and Cath needed to be back in Wellington yesterday.. oh well, can do NP next time.. should be able to find stuff to do around Wellington.. may even explore Masterton and the Wairarapa which i've never been to yet.. i hardly ever come up to the North Island and it's always different up here so should appreciate the difference..

now listening to Mum's Dollar.. wish i had gotten a few more CDs but got to restrict myself.. may look for other CDs at Manna here in Wellington or when i get back.. want Delirious, and Amberlin but i think they got a new album coming up soon..
