29th December.. can't believe we're already on the 29th day of the last month of 2006.. pretty soon it'll be 2007..
frankly, i'm still treading towards 2007 with a bit of trepidition.. i know 2007 is gonna be a massive year, in terms of sport, with the Cricket World Cup in March and April, and of coz the Rugby World Cup in September and October which i will be heading off to France for then.. in terms of life, hmm.. yes well dun really know what to expect.. it's gonna be a new era that's for sure, with me looking for a job..
what makes me nervous is how long it'll take to find a job.. really treading the line between trying to find experience and trying to find enough money to pay for my big European adventure.. really if i'm trying to earn as much money for Europe, i should try and stay in Dunedin and save up by staying at home.. but then again, i don't mind looking at the bigger cities like Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington for more variety.. however, then comes the flatting issue.. how do i account for that.. hmmm.. decisions, decisions... i'll prob end up looking at the big 3 i think.. just that there are more jobs there..
i kinda feel my time in Dunedin has come up.. the puzzle pieces have been in place for 2007 and i don't quite feel my piece fits in the picture.. maybe it's just me, but over time we shall see..
anyway been frustrated with the slow Internet in this country over the last few days.. not really the operator's fault though.. it's the bloody earthquake in Taiwan which severed internet lines around the region, which is the reason why i couldn't quite follow the Boxing Day test in Melbourne ball by ball.. anyway England lost that although appreciated that Shane Warne got his 700th wicket and after his 7-for has now 706 test wickets..
however, cricket is not the reason why i'm in Malaysia.. and with my house in the middle of being repainted inside and out, it was a v good excuse to go shopping in Malaysia's big shopping malls - btw seems like a long time ago since i went to Mid Valley Megamall even though i went there on Tuesday (was it? when was Boxing Day? that's right Tuesday).. i tell ya they are p massive.. they even have waterfalls the size of Sutherland Falls right in the middle of the building for crying out loud! i'll put up pics one day.. prob after the new year..
anyway have prob spent about RM300 in the last few days.. really i decided since the conversion rate between RM and NZD is so poor, might as well spend and spend and get more things which ya can't get here.. i started with a reserve of RM1000 now.. around RM300 prob has been spent on: two polo shirts, Liverpool Champions League and 2006 World Cup DVDs, Frank Lampard and Wayne Rooney autobiographies, magazines.. should give some for tithes to my church here..
anyway straying off from the topic.. 2007.. well not really gonna think abt it even though it is perilously close.. like 2006.. just take it a step by the time..
highlights of 2006? may have mentioned this.. maybe not.. but anyway:
Trip to Mount Hutt
The Oscars - Bollywood movie and my cartwheels
Working in Cromwell (llingstyin fakrilove with)
Mike Willis
Thanksgiving dinner thanks to Dan and Lizzie..
