sure is!
reached London at around 6.10 in the morning - did get to see the Dutch coast and London city even though it was still early in the morning and it was relatively dark.. Heathrow - and actually p much most parts of London as I soon found out - has a lot of walkways and tunnels which u need to go through before u reach a place!! anyway, spent an hour waiting at customs, only to find that the officer was more interested in helping out his female colleague rather than whether i was a terrorist - he did ask me why I was in Britain and how long I was going to be in the country.. bar the waiting in line at the passport checkpoint, the whole arrivals ceremony of baggage reclaim and possible baggage checks (that actually was non-existent as I just walked through undisturbed!) was p much a non-event - a good thing really.. actually getting out of Heathrow to St Albans - which is actually quite far out from London in the northwest side - was prob the bigger challenge.. my first reality check of this European tour when I found out how much a one-way ticket from Heathrow to St Albans - albeit with tube and train integrated - was £11.50 (ah a laptop which allows ya to type the £ sign :) ) .. hmm..
not much to say.. in fact i really wouldn't say this is worthy of posting other than to keep people in the know.. but i can say it was nice to see a familiar face at Changi airport and then catch the same flight to London.. was just hanging out at the Sports Bar watching South Africa v Tonga when i saw Christy Corlett and her two other friends.. however they're only in Europe for 5 weeks, spending the first night in London with her brother.. still p cool to see a familiar face outside of where u'd expect them to see.. she did say before she saw me that it would be weird if she saw someone she knew at a totally random place!
anyway, prob just spend the first day adjusting to London conditions.. but have walked a bit around some of London's neighbourhoods and i quite like what i saw.. kinda like Newtown in Wellington or St Clair in Dunedin but a lot nicer.. will try and catch the Scotland All Blacks game later.. must try and keep myself awake from now on till London night time!
