I will miss Paris.. this despite the freakin railway strike - darn Sarkozy!!! - that could have made my weekend like hell.. it's a fantastic and beautiful city with so much character and charms.. there's always something that captures ur imagination even if u have been to the Eiffel Tower or walked pass Invalides or the Louvre a hundred times..
and have to say, i thoroughly rate and loved the French people.. they are the most wonderful people i've ever met esp when u spoke in their tongue.. i mean every race will have its nobs and weirdos but i have to say i did not have one thing bad to say abt the French.. ok there were the odd language and communication problems which were to be expected when there's the language barrier between u and them but really that was quite rare.. thoroughly enjoyed speaking with them..
it's not the end of my French foray as I'll be back in France visiting Provence and Cote d'Azur towards the end of the week before heading into northern Italy.. had prob one of my longer travel days.. mind u the TGV makes going from Paris to Montpellier seem so easy even though they're both on either ends of the country.. i tell ya it's freakin fast.. after walking around Montpellier for 4 hours caught the train to Barcelona, which was abt 5 hours given we had to stop at the border for immigration control.. haven't really seen too much of Barca yet although have to say food seems a lot cheaper here than in France!
on Montpellier, well don't go there on a Sunday unless ya want to see the Museum Fabre.. no shops are open.. only the cafes are open.. at least the weather was sunny.. otherwise it really felt like a ghost town and was glad to be out of there.. nice little city in the Languedoc Rossilion region though..
anyway better get some rest.. staying at this really great backpackers place in Montjuic.. just hope no one snores.. or i'm tired enough to just ignore it!
